The prostate is a gland at the base of the bladder in men. It is involved in providing some of the secretions that make semen. Malfunctions of this gland can give rise to problems with both urination and fertility.

Chronic Prostatitis

Chronic infection of the prostate gland due to candida, venereal and other infections, can produce pain, recurring cystitis and a reduced quality of sperm, leading to infertility and general debility.

Prostatic Enlargement

Enlargement of the prostate usually occurs in older men resulting in difficulty in passing urine. The first symptoms include a urgent desire to urinate, having to wait for the stream to start, dribbling after finishing urination, increased frequency of urination and having to get up several times during the night to urinate.
